Use your Hard drive as RAM.
Actually this feature was given in fedora 10(my recent OS). During installation itself it will ask for the size of hard disk space to use as RAM. Just by entering a value which is double the size of your physical RAM does the job.So if you already have a 512 Mb RAM, Now your Linux OS will be running with 1GB RAM.This technique seem to have great effect on my sluggish computer.I even heard that it is possible to use Pen drive as RAM in vista or something. Not a bad one though!!
Simple way of stopping software piracy...
Every one need an office suite in their system to use documents, prepare presentations and do many such activities. But I don't know why,not all have that generous mind of spending some dime for a software. If my guess was correct, this need paves the way for piracy.
I would say, It is the duty of experienced professionals to develop the open source applications up to the standard of at-least meeting the basic expectations of average users. When this practice was followed ultimately fresh programmers will also be grasped into this open source era. A rapid growth in this field is being noted, soon this dream of everything for everyone will become reality, but it takes lot of work from our side though.
